Gorgeous day, wicked views, passed a gaggle of female hikers on the way down the Lake Arnold Trail towards Avalanche camp. Bombed the trail in 2:20 to the summit, 2:10 back to the kiosk. True summit is to the left, just prior to the balanced rock at the output of the slide from the Trap Dike. Hole drilled in rock with Deak chiseled next to it. Got passed by a trial runner completing her 46 by starting at the Garden and doing Basin and Haystack and out via Lake Colden trail from Mt. Marcy |

The Drive |
| Too many idiots on Route 3. Sunshine and a moderately warm day seem to bring them out in droves. |
